Fire Cupping

$120 per 60 minutes

Cupping therapy is not new, but an ancient form of alternative medicine dated back to ancient Chinese, Egyptian, and Middle Eastern cultures.  Special cups made of glass, silicone,  bamboo or earthenware are applied on the skin to create a somewhat deep-tissue suction which helps with inflammation, stagnation of blood flow, and pain.

In Fire Cupping, a flammable substance such as alcohol, herbs, or paper, is set on fire into a glass cup. As the fire goes out, the glass cup is flipped upside down directly onto the skin. This unique therapy is an alternative, non-invasive treatment technique on the skin to encourage blood flow to damaged areas. In 2016 Rio Olympic Games, American athletes like Michael Phelps and Alex Naddour were seen sporting circular red marks on their backs, shoulders, and arms during the event, leading to an increase in interest for cupping therapy. It is often recommended to patients who suffer from muscular pain, joint pain, skin problems, and/or respiratory disorders. The cup is left on the skin for 3-5 minutes, the process creating a suction causing the skin to rise and redden within the cup, as blood vessels expand, encouraging blood flow and increased circulation to the damaged areas. While it may be recommended to patients with specific musculoskeletal conditions, it is ideal for anyone who wishes to heal his or her soft tissue injuries and reduce overall pain and inflammation. You might get 3-5 cups in your first session. Your skin should look normal again within 10 days. Cupping is believed to help remove harmful substances and toxins from the body to promote healing.

Hydrotherapy

$130 per 60 minutes

Hydrotherapy, also known as water therapy, is a form of physical medicine using the therapeutic application of water at varying temperatures in a variety of ways on the body, for health purposes. In hydrotherapy massage, hot and cold towels are applied alternately for the rapid changes produced in the circulatory system when the body goes from very warm water to very cold water. When part or all of your body is submerged in cold water, small blood vessels called capillaries respond to the cold by getting smaller, known as vasoconstriction. When immersed in warm water, the opposite happens to the body, and the blood vessels open up, known as vasodilation. Different water temperatures also cause changes in how fast your heart beats. Circulatory changes like Cold water causes your heart rate to speed up, while hot water slows it down. When rapidly alternating between hot-water and cold-water immersions, your blood vessels open and close in a pulsing, pump-like motion. it may act as a treatment for temporary skin-related issues, such as burns and septic ulcers, or for chronic health conditions, such as arthritis and fibromyalgia. This pumping action is believed to help relieve various injury symptoms.
